Although not as well known here in Colorado as Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles Rennie Mackintosh was also a famed architect from Glasgow, Scotland. Another creative maverick who, like Lloyd Wright, also designed every bit of the interior, from the furniture to the stained glass windows.
He even designed his own font, for any lettering needed on the sign of a building. No surprise, Mackintosh’s font, known as willow, is the one we use in the logo for Scottish Stained Glass.
Well loved by Scotsmen and those with discerning tastes around the world, Mackintosh stained glass is known for its beautiful, lyrical, and flowing style. He made famous the red rose design that’s come to be known as the Glasgow Rose.
